For the design team at my LSS we were asked to make an I AM page with Simple Stories I Am paper.
At first I was a little stumped because I had a bunch of journaling cards and things that fit in the pocket pages. I don't scrap with pocket pages. Heck, I don't even manage to get my layouts into an actual album. Ever. Really. They are just in stacks on a huge shelf in a closet in my studio. So a pocket page is quite beyond my realm of scrapping.
After staring at the many 3/4, 4x6 and 5x7 pieces, I managed to pick elements from many of them that I thought I could use and this is the outcome.
I fussy cut the banner out of one of the cards. Because the of metallic gold accents, I sewed around the papers and across the banner with gold metallic thread.
I cut 1" squares out of various other papers and glued them on in a quilt pattern and machine stitched across them. I used this quilt paper to cut hearts and a boarder piece and then sewed around the edges of each of them.
This layout went together very quickly once I decided what I was going to do with all of the elements.

Disney Trip Count Down Frame - Say Cheese II
When we do Design Team projects we are supposed to do a layout and something else. My something else for the Simple Stories Say Cheese II line was a Disney Trip Count Down Frame that could be turned into a regular picture frame once the trip is over.
I cut the Simple Stories paper out to the right size and then sewed around the edges with gold thread to tie in with the Antique Linen Distress Glitter.
This project was fun but it turned out looking completely different than what I had imagined in my head.
The center is the piece of wood that goes on the back of the frame to hold the glass and picture in place. I painted it with Prima Chalkboard paint.
I used Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon to kind of tie the wooden veneer pieces together
and to give it the feel that Disney Magic was coming alive off the film.
Then I stained and glittered some of the pieces with Rock Candy Distress Glitter and Antique Linen Distress Glitter. I used Distress Stains on most of the pieces but the blue ones I mixed a few Distress Paints to get the color I wanted.I cut the Simple Stories paper out to the right size and then sewed around the edges with gold thread to tie in with the Antique Linen Distress Glitter.

Magic - Simple Stories Say Cheese II
I was given this paper for a Design Team project for my LSS. I generally don't use "Disney" paper or "Disney colors" for my Disney layouts, so this was a challenge. It was cute and I felt that although it was almost cliche to do the mouse background, it called for it. So, here it is.
I cut out the stars from one of the embossed sides and added them in the corner.
See, simple, very straight forward and I now have a Disney memory scrapped that I hadn't scrapped before. Thanks Simple Stories!
I sewed on it in gold metallic thread to go with the gold accents in the paper.
The word magic was embossed on one side of one of the papers, so I cut it out, punched the corners with my corner chomper, and added a few tiny Mickey heads punched from more of the embossed sections of the paper I had. I cut out the stars from one of the embossed sides and added them in the corner.
See, simple, very straight forward and I now have a Disney memory scrapped that I hadn't scrapped before. Thanks Simple Stories!

Thanksgiving Design Team Projects
One of our Design Team projects for my LSS last fall was to use Sweater Weather by Simple Stories. We are usually to make a one page layout and a decor/card/party piece.
For my decor piece I decided to make place settings for a Thanksgiving table. I remembered that Tim Holtz made these really cute Turkeys a few years ago using his rosette die so I combined it with his mini bag die and made utensil holders.
Here is his tutorial for making the Quirkey Turkeys if you want to try it yourself.

Family Layout and Mini Book
That's it for the design team Halloween projects. I was also given some pieces from the Legacy collection by Simple Stories.
This layout is an old photo of my dad's family. I'm not sure how old, but I can say probably about 30 years old. The pictures are in my grandparent's front yard and Grandma is in the top center photograph. My dad is in the blue shirt and the others are his siblings.
This is a sticker from the collection, I made two flags from bits of the journaling squares, and the wooden hearts are from Studio Calico.
The title is cut from one of the journaling squares. I used one of the left over pieces to make one of the flags above. Again, the wooden hearts are from Studio Calico.
I like this background paper. It has games, handwritten ledgers, and the cookbook label on it. I picked that portion because Grandma always loved to play games, especially Yahtzee and Parchesi. She was a great cook. I got many of her recipes. As the lunch lady at the elementary school, (back when they actually used to cook the food) she had to keep ledgers upon ledgers. I remember watching her work on the books everyday after school. She had very neat writing and she was very methodical about it.
I also made a mini book out of #8 tags. I used Tim Holtz stencils and Ruler Binding to make the book and then just added a bunch of the little bits and pieces I had left from this paper.
This is a picture of the cover and a few of the pages.

This layout was based on a layout from Creatively Savvy.
Most of the lines from Simple Stores have lots of journaling cards and pieces for pocket scrapbooking. While I have the utmost respect for
those who can do pocket scrapbooking and keep up with it, it isn't the
kind of scrapbooking I do. So I used many of the backgrounds and odds
and ends from some of the little cards to make my layout.

Disney Insta-Favorites from the 30-Day Disney Challenge
Last September (yeah, I know.....) I posted a 30-Day Disney Challenge list for Instagram. Totally fun! I was busy with cats, so it allowed me to use by Disney pictures on my phone when I didn't have time to actually scrap them.
Then in October, designer Susan Stringfellow posted two sketches for people at Disney Scrappers to use with their instagram favorites or just some square photos. I started mine and just got it finished. Well, I'm getting better! At least it is less than a year old.
Here is Susan's one page sketch #109 from Sketch Savvy
Here is my layout using Say Cheese by Simple Stories.

Hallo Rabbit!
One sunny July 4th in 2009, as DH and I wandered around Disneyland, we made our way back to Critter Country and happened upon RABBIT! We never, ever see Rabbit back in Critter Country, or Piget for that matter. Lots of Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger though. We were so excited that we were the third ones in line!
This layout is for NSD Challenge #3 - Feel Like a Kid Again! - from Disney Scrappers.
We were to use Sketch #83 from Sketch Savvy and part of the challenge was to include a Hidden Mickey and the picture had to be about an adult, no kids allowed. ;-D
I fell in love with this paper at my LSS it is called Summer Fresh from Simple Stories (and Made in the USA!) It reminded me of summer when I was a little girl growing up in the 70's and Mom would sew our clothes for us. I thought it went perfectly with this photo.
Just had to include a little Rabbit video on this page. This video doesn't have Pooh give Rabbit his usual "Hallo Rabbit!" greeting, but it is one of my all-time favorite Pooh and Rabbit scenes.
