Christmas in June Pt. 3 - Joy to the World

This is the last of the Christmas in June samples I made this month. For this project I wanted a rustic bunch of greenery and pinecones to be the focal point, so I put them on a medium Etcetera tag and again kept it fairly simple so the focus was on the spray.

The Sizzix Alterations Dies I used on this project were:
Paper Snowflakes Mini
Storybook Font
Holiday Words 2 Thin
Fold-up Bows
Holiday Greens
Holiday Greens Mini
Tattered Pinecone
Jumbo Tattered Pinecone

Let's get started!
To make the background I cut a bunch of the Paper Snowflakes out of kraft paper.
I laid them out on the tag to see how I wanted them to look.
Then I attached them onto the tag with Distress Collage Medium.
Once dry I trimmed the bits that were hanging off the edge and then sanded all the edges.
Next I painted over the entire surface of the tag with Picket Fence Distress Paint.
Once it was dry I went over the entire thing with the Ideaology Sanding Block and carefully sanded away the paint from the edges of the tag and the raised edges of the snowflakes.  I wanted this to look like I had embossed the tag and then paint had worn away from some of the areas. I really like how it turned out and didn't want to cover the whole thing, so when I added the greenery and sentiment I tried to leave some areas where the background could be seen.

In case you don't know how to make the pinecones, Tim made a very helpful tutorial video several years ago that I recommend watching if you haven't used the Tattered Pinecone dies before.

Christmas in June Part 2 - Halfway to Christmas!

Today marks the halfway point of the year and only 6 more months until Christmas!
This is a Christmas Shaker Card I made a couple of weeks ago using the following Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous, and Sizzix Alterations:
Tree Ring
Tattered Christmas Stamps and Framelits
Holiday Words Script
Pine Punch
Fold-up Bows

I noted it in my sneak peek, but again, this Shaker Card was inspired by Greg Harrison’s Tree Ring Shaker Ornament.

Peace --
I wanted this card to reflect the sentiment so I tried to make it soft and pleasant.
To make this card I used the following dies from Tim Holtx Sizzix Alterations:
Tattered Poinsettia and texture fade
Tattered Leaves die and texture fade
Stacked Baroque
Rosette Embossing Folder
Holiday Words Script

This Christmas card was a lot of fun to make. I pulled out several dies from my stash to pair with some of the newer ones.
For this card, other than the Ideaology 2017 Christmas paper on the cup, the rest of the paper is Distress Specialty Stamping Paper.

To make this card I used the following dies and stamps from Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous, and Sizzix Alterations:
Swirly Snowflakes stamps and framelits
Tea Time
Lace
Simple Snowflakes Texture Fade
Stacked Label

I made a quick slideshow on how to make a custom ink pad for the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Swirly Snowflakes.

In case it moves too fast you will need, @ranger_ink Cut n Dry Stamp Pad FELT (not the Foam, that’s for different techniques!) Distress Ink Reinkers in the colors of your choice, then the Swirly Snowflakes CMS319 and Swirly Snowflakes Mini CMS320 Stamps as well as the matching Swirly Snowflake Framelits from Sizzix Alterations. I chose Distress Specialty Stamping Paper for this technique because I wanted the background white and the images to be really clear.

For the snowflakes I like to put the darkest color in the center and then the lighter colors around it in kind of a bullseye shape.
Once you get the ink on the felt, I smush it in with an old gift card or scraper to push the ink into the felt. Then you can stamp with it like any other stamp pad.
Once stamped, I cut them all out with the matching Framelits dies from Sizzix. To keep the framelits in place and make sure they don't shift when I'm cutting them, I hold them in place with some low tack tape. Here I used some old washi tape I got at a crop. I don't like to waste my good Tim Holtz design tape on this step!
I love these snowflakes. They’re so pretty.
Look at the detail in the stamps and how perfectly the framelits cut them! They are just so beautiful I like to stare at them. LOL!

I can't decide which one is my favorite!
It’s a pretty easy technique to do and I love the result!

Christmas in June Part 1

These three projects are made with Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Dies.
This woodsy card was part of the set of simple Christmas Cards I was designing a few weeks ago.
This card is really easy to make and can be replicated for mailing to family and friends.

The following Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations were used:
Planks (fave!)
Layered Holiday Wreath
Storybook Font

A Christmas Luminary

I made this little luminary for a design assignment recently.  Just some simple Christmas cards were requested, but I thought it would be fun to make a little luminary too.

It’s made using the following Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations:
Stacked Archway
Dimensional Stars
Stitched Squares
Flourish Texture Fade
Pine Paper Punch
Fold-up Bows

Another simple Christmas card I made a couple of weeks ago.
This one was inspired by Disneyland’s Viva Navidad Celebration at Christmas time. It’s one of my favorite parts of the holidays at Disneyland. What a bright, joyful, merry holiday celebration it is. So that was the feeling I tried to express here.

I used the following Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations on this card:
Sparkle Texture Fade
Tattered Poinsettia
Holiday Sayings 2

See? Really simple! Easy to make a bunch of these for Christmas cards.
