Sketchy Halloween - Stamper Anonymous

This is another decor piece I made with the new Halloween stamps from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous, as well as the new Etcetera panels and Tiles, and I throw in some Distress Mica Stains and Opaque Black Texture Paste for good measure. This is another simple project that anyone can do, so please come join me as we make a Stamped Halloween Panel.

Here is a quick video tutorial showing all the steps to make this Stamped Halloween Panel.

The background Etcetera Panel was covered with a piece of Distress Watercolor paper that was colored with Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke and Lost Shadow Distress Spray Stains. Then once dry I applied Distress Opaque Black Texture Paste through the Fractured Stencil around the edges of the panel. Once that was dry I sprayed Iron Gate Mica Stain on it and added some Specimen Mica Stain as well to make it shimmery and a little darker.
The tiles are all Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Three are stamped with Black Soot Archival Ink, watercolored with Distress Watercolor Pencils, and then colored with a light coating of Distress Mica Stains to add shimmer. These were attached to two Large Etcetera Tiles for dimension. The other three were sprayed with Distress Mica Stains then stamped with Black Soot and embossed with Superfine Black Embossing Powder. These were then attached to one Large Etcetera Tile.

Have a creative day,

Night of Frights - Whimsy Stamps

For this card I paired the Halloween Night stamps and dies with the Bat's Galore embossing folder, all from Whimsy Stamps, and threw in some Halloween Distress Mica Stains from Tim Holtz and Ranger Ink. I thought the little bats in this set of stamps were just darling and wanted to showcase them.

Here is the video tutorial for this card. Enjoy!

It's difficult to photograph the shimmer on this card from the Mica Stains but it is in every layer!
I colored the bats with Distress Watercolor Pencils.
Here you can see some of the Mica Stain shimmer from Ominous Twilight in the purple layer, Iron Gate in the black card base, and the specks of orange from Jack-o-Lantern.
Although this sweet little bat was stamped and cut out as part of an image with one of the witches in the set, I don't use witches or witch imagery in any of my makes, so it was easy enough to just hand cut the connecting section so he could shine all on his own.
You can see that on the orange background that I did flick some Black Soot Oxide onto the orange before I stamped the sentiment on.
Here you can see the contrast of the shimmery purple and the matte black bats from the Distress Black Soot Oxide. I love the contrast.
A different view of the matte and shimmer on this card.
I added a second sentiment on this card because I felt like it needed it. It brings your eye all the way down the card.

The Halloween Wishes is from a longer sentiment in the set that says Hugs and Kisses & Halloween Wishes, but since my space was limited, I cut the top half off and just stamped the bottom line. I can still easily stamp them together in the future if I want, or separately again.

I hope you enjoyed this fairly simple Halloween Night card an that it inspires you to give something a try that you have been meaning to get to or that you want to learn.

Thank you for coming to my blog. I'm grateful for your support and encouragement!

Blimey Pirates - Whimsy Stamps

This slimline card was made with the new pirate release from Whimsy Stamps. As you know I'm kind of having a pirate vibe with my Halloween makes this year and I was so exited to see this release! The pirate faces make me laugh. So please join me as we make a Blimey card.

Here is the video tutorial.

The pirates and sentiments from Blimey Pirates were stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and colored with Distress Stain and a waterbrush.

The window sea and sky were a mixture of Tumbled Glass Distress Spray Stain and Distress Watercolor Pencils.
The Kracken is a small stamp from the Treasure Map stamp set.
This sentiment was colored with Lumberjack Plaid.
It's the same with all of the other sentiments and pirates.
I used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Spray Stain to watercolor the skulls.
A few more images from Treasure Map.
Lumberjack Plaid and Gathered Twigs
The Wobbly Windows Slimline Die was cut from Distressed Cracked Leather Cardstock,
The bandana is Lumberjack Plaid.
I hope the video was helpful and having the photos and colors here was beneficial as well.

Thank you so very much for visiting! I truly appreciate it!

Distress Mica Stains - Holiday Release

The Christmas Distress Release is out!

These are my swatches of all the colors including the new ones. I like to see them next to each other in family groups and on Watercolor Cardstock (the small swatches) as well as a Mixed Media Heavystock tag and a White Heavystock tag. You can see in these photos that the slightly yellowed base of the Mixed Media does affect the final outcome color.

By the Light of the Moon

I think the Mini Frights stamps from the new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Halloween Release are super cute and I thought they would pair really well with the new Etcetera Tiles. Let's not waste any time and just jump right in to the how-to!

Here is a process tutorial that I filmed as I was making this piece.

To begin, I used a Small Etcetera Tag and a package of Etcetera Mosaic Tiles.

I stamped the Mini Frights in Black Archival Ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock.

I colored the images with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I used the palette I had made with the pencil shavings.

I cut the sentiment Here For The Candy apart so I could stamp it horizontally under the candy.

The tag is covered with Distress Watercolor Cardstock and sprayed with Dusty Concord and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain. I added a bit of Ominous Twilight, Jack o Lantern and Mulled Cider Mica Stains as well.
Then I fnished off the background tag by stenciling the Spellbound stencil with Black Opaque Texture Paste. The word strip at the bottom is from the Idea-ology Baseboards pack for 2023.
The little ghost does not glow.
Such a cute little bat!
I painted the "throw-away" frame you pop the mosaic tiles out of, with Black Soot Distress Paint and used it to frame the tiles and I love how it looks! Don't throw away those outside bits! You can find all kinds of ways to use them!
Lastly, I added a few hardware heads to some of the pieces to finish it off.

I hope you enjoy this fun, whimsical piece of Halloween decor made with Tim Holtz products.

Have a creative day!
