Blimey Pirates - Whimsy Stamps

This slimline card was made with the new pirate release from Whimsy Stamps. As you know I'm kind of having a pirate vibe with my Halloween makes this year and I was so exited to see this release! The pirate faces make me laugh. So please join me as we make a Blimey card.

Here is the video tutorial.

The pirates and sentiments from Blimey Pirates were stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink on Distress Watercolor Cardstock and colored with Distress Stain and a waterbrush.

The window sea and sky were a mixture of Tumbled Glass Distress Spray Stain and Distress Watercolor Pencils.
The Kracken is a small stamp from the Treasure Map stamp set.
This sentiment was colored with Lumberjack Plaid.
It's the same with all of the other sentiments and pirates.
I used Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs Spray Stain to watercolor the skulls.
A few more images from Treasure Map.
Lumberjack Plaid and Gathered Twigs
The Wobbly Windows Slimline Die was cut from Distressed Cracked Leather Cardstock,
The bandana is Lumberjack Plaid.
I hope the video was helpful and having the photos and colors here was beneficial as well.

Thank you so very much for visiting! I truly appreciate it!

Have a creative day,

Tami

Distress Mica Stains - Holiday Release

The Christmas Distress Release is out!

These are my swatches of all the colors including the new ones. I like to see them next to each other in family groups and on Watercolor Cardstock (the small swatches) as well as a Mixed Media Heavystock tag and a White Heavystock tag. You can see in these photos that the slightly yellowed base of the Mixed Media does affect the final outcome color.

Have a creative day!

By the Light of the Moon

I think the Mini Frights stamps from the new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Halloween Release are super cute and I thought they would pair really well with the new Etcetera Tiles. Let's not waste any time and just jump right in to the how-to!

Here is a process tutorial that I filmed as I was making this piece.

To begin, I used a Small Etcetera Tag and a package of Etcetera Mosaic Tiles.

I stamped the Mini Frights in Black Archival Ink onto Distress Watercolor Cardstock.

I colored the images with Distress Watercolor Pencils. I used the palette I had made with the pencil shavings.

I cut the sentiment Here For The Candy apart so I could stamp it horizontally under the candy.

The tag is covered with Distress Watercolor Cardstock and sprayed with Dusty Concord and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain. I added a bit of Ominous Twilight, Jack o Lantern and Mulled Cider Mica Stains as well.
Then I fnished off the background tag by stenciling the Spellbound stencil with Black Opaque Texture Paste. The word strip at the bottom is from the Idea-ology Baseboards pack for 2023.
The little ghost does not glow.
Such a cute little bat!
I painted the "throw-away" frame you pop the mosaic tiles out of, with Black Soot Distress Paint and used it to frame the tiles and I love how it looks! Don't throw away those outside bits! You can find all kinds of ways to use them!
Lastly, I added a few hardware heads to some of the pieces to finish it off.

I hope you enjoy this fun, whimsical piece of Halloween decor made with Tim Holtz products.

Have a creative day!

Eclectic Elements Frightful Substrates Projects

Embroidery Hoop Pumpkin Panel

Hello friends! I am seriously so thankful that Tim Holtz includes me as a relatively non-sewer in his fabric releases. My makes are all beginner level sewing makes or no-sew crafty projects. I will be posting links to the various tutorials on here as I get them made. So this will be a holding blog post for all my Halloween fabric tutorials. And also a huge shout out to Tim for the staged photos. He made my simple, no-sew/barely-sewn makes look so good!

Avast Me Hearties! Supply List

The Treasure Room
The Poison Raven Pub
The Prison Cell

The Captains Quarters

Hello makers!

I am going to use this page as a holding spot for the real Avast Me Hearties tutorial as soon as it is finished. But until then, I have had people asking me what and how much I used so here is the list with my affiliate links for those of you crazy enough to want to try this make. For those who just want to make part of it, or one scene, I hope you can suss out what you need for that portion until I finish editing.

I used ONE of everything listed except for

Barrels - you will need 3 packages (I used 5 barrels)

Skull Shape Seals - I used 5 or 6 of the seals so if you can find the packet of just seals get 2

Deco Frames - I used two of the scallopy round ones to make big gold medallions so you will need two packs if you don’t have that frame in your stash.

Cross Bones - if you get the pack of 6, one will be fine but if you get the pack with less you need probably two packs.

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for using my affiliate links! It helps so much!

Don’t forget to use code SPARK at Simon Says Stamp for 30% off Idea-ology this weekend!
