50

My parent's 50th Golden Anniversary is this fall so I thought I would do an early layout to start the celebration.  Why not celebrate a long time for this one?

I'm on the Design Team for my LSS, and my assignment this month was to work with My Mind's Eye Market Street Nob Hill paper and embellishments. With all of the touches of gold, I felt it was perfect for a Golden Anniversary layout.

I used Sketch #114 from Sketch Savvy for this layout.

This gold doily in the die cut packet and gold leaves just needed a few gold sequins from Hazel and Ruby Handmade for an added touch along the side of the photo.

Designer Susan Stringfellow often sews over chipboard on her layouts.  I didn't believe that it would be so easy. So, I pulled this chipboard button from the chipboard pieces and "took a leap."  It worked!  I was actually surprised at how easily my machine sewed right through it.  I went at a medium speed and used the denim needle that I use for all my paper craft sewing.

Once I knew it worked, I adhered these gold elements and sewed right through them.
The larger round gold button was actually another color.  I adhered gold paper from one of the papers in the set and sanded the edges.

I made flowers with the papers.  Just punch some flower shapes out of cardstock, wet, crumple and layer.  I attached them all with a gold brad. Nothing fancy.

The title is cut from an old Lifestyle Crafts (Quickutz) alpha Blossom Grand. I cut 4 layers of thick black chipboard and one layer of black paper.  I adhered them all together to make a thick letter and then put Ranger's Glossy Accents on the top.
