Disney Trip Count Down Frame - Say Cheese II

When we do Design Team projects we are supposed to do a layout and something else.  My something else for the Simple Stories Say Cheese II line was a Disney Trip Count Down Frame that could be turned into a regular picture frame once the trip is over.

The center is the piece of wood that goes on the back of the frame to hold the glass and picture in place. I painted it with Prima Chalkboard paint.

I used Tim Holtz Film Strip Ribbon to kind of tie the wooden veneer pieces together
and to give it the feel that Disney Magic was coming alive off the film.
Then I stained and glittered some of the pieces with Rock Candy Distress Glitter and Antique Linen Distress Glitter. I used Distress Stains on most of the pieces but the blue ones I mixed a few Distress Paints to get the color I wanted.

I cut the Simple Stories paper out to the right size and then sewed around the edges with gold thread to tie in with the Antique Linen Distress Glitter.

This project was fun but it turned out looking completely different than what I had imagined in my head.

Magic - Simple Stories Say Cheese II

I was given this paper for a Design Team project for my LSS. I generally don't use "Disney" paper or "Disney colors" for my Disney layouts, so this was a challenge. It was cute and I felt that although it was almost cliche to do the mouse background, it called for it. So, here it is.

I sewed on it in gold metallic thread to go with the gold accents in the paper.
The word magic was embossed on one side of one of the papers, so I cut it out, punched the corners with my corner chomper, and added a few tiny Mickey heads punched from more of the embossed sections of the paper I had.

I cut out the stars from one of the embossed sides and added them in the corner.

See, simple, very straight forward and I now have a Disney memory scrapped that I hadn't scrapped before.  Thanks Simple Stories!

January CHA Make n Takes

I went to CHA in January for two days and ended up making two of the Graphic 45 make n takes.  They were both lines that were going to be carried in my LSS, so I thought I would make them for displays in the store.

The first line was Home Sweet Home. I don't have a veggie garden, or do much with cookin or recipes any more, so I wasn't sure I would be able to use this line for any pictures. Then I ran across this picture of Rabbit in Pooh Corner at Disneyland and the veggies in the background were a perfect fit.

This project designed by Graphic 45 was intended to be hung on the refrigerator and have shopping lists or coupons attached to it.  I made it a mini scrapbook page instead.

This envelope made into a mini scrapbook page was made from the Time to Flourish line. It features a photo of us in the Flower Market on Main Street USA in Disneyland that was there in December of 2013.  It was a very pretty little photo spot.

As always, Graphic 45 has gorgeous lines and they are a very generous company.  And sadly one of the few who had paper and projects this year at CHA.
